Programming Coordinator for Scripps Networks International
Three fun facts about Sybil:
- I love to read.
- I really love scary stuff: monster movies, apocalyptic stories and zombies.
I’m a cat lady. I have four: Clyde, Hillard, Shug Avery and Honey Chile.
The best thing for me about working at SNI is the people.
My first exposure to Scripps was at the 10th anniversary party.
I
heard our Chairman, CEO and President, Ken Lowe, speak, and I knew SNI
was the company I wanted to work for!
It took a lot of resumes and
campaigning from friends who already worked here, but I was
finally given a chance. It’s been a great ride since.
I love my job at SNI because working
in International programming gives me the opportunity to work with
colleagues from all of our brands and across the world. Every day is a new adventure. I’ve seen the business go from strictly licensing to channel launches in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
I’m based in Knoxville, TN, and I love it here. I’m a native who used to think I was meant for the excitement and fast pace of a big city. I’m glad I settled here. East Tennessee is a beautiful place to live.
I’ve learned to be successful at SNI through my willingness to take on different projects, large and small. It also takes an active manager who’s invested in your success and professional growth.
My favorite SNI show is House Hunters International. It’s always interesting to see how people live all over the world (and what they will pay to do it!).
The best tip I’ve learned from our shows is that it’s possible to live beautifully in small spaces.
