Brad Paisley Spins the Wheelhouse-Live in Las Vegas concert on Great American Country

CONCERT EVENT PREMIERES MAY 29, FEATURES GUESTS CARRIE UNDERWOOD & DIERKS BENTLEY

NASHVILLE, TENN. (May 17, 2013) --   “I thought it would be the mission statement that basically said, ‘Here’s where we are, here’s where we’re going,’” Brad Paisley says of “Southern Comfort Zone,” his most recent No. 1 hit and the first single from his recently released Wheelhouse album.  “I think it sets the tone for where we’re going.”  The country star performs new music and chart-topping hits and gives fans a look at the staging for his Beat This Summer Tour Presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® in Brad Paisley Spins the Wheelhouse: Live in Vegas, a 90-minute special premiering Wednesday, May 29, 10:00 p.m./ET on Great American Country
 
The concert was shot at The Orleans in Las Vegas where Paisley and his band were surrounded by staging that featured spectacular lighting, special effects and animation.  Many fans expressed themselves through hand-drawn signs, one of which earned a very young fan her own autographed acoustic guitar right off the back of the singer.
 
“It was a special treat for GAC to get the first glimpse of Brad’s new tour and we’re excited to share it with viewers,” said GAC VP/Programming Suzanne Gordon.  “Once again he’s put a lot of thought and imagination into his live show.”
Paisley talks honestly about steppin
g behind the console to produce his latest album and to work without “supervision.”   “The rule was to not necessarily respect the rules,” he said about taking his band into a house on his property to make this record.  The special features performances from the new project including (in addition to “Southern Comfort Zone”) “Outstanding in Our Field” with special guest Dierks Bentley; “Beat This Summer;” “The Mona Lisa” and “I Can’t Change the World.”  And he treats fans to classic hits “Mud on the Tires;” “This Is Country Music;” “Old Alabama;” “Water” and “Remind Me” with special guest and duet partner, Carrie Underwood.  Rocker John Fogerty also makes a special appearance.
 
“At 40 years old I still live for that period of time from the end of April to the beginning of October when touring is at its height and the lawn is full of drunk people,” the country music triple threat says of his choice to tour during the summer months.  “Country music is better outside in the summertime.”
