NEW YORK – January 3, 2013 – DIY Network’s Blog Cabin
, the first-ever interactive home-building television series, returns for its seventh season this summer. The popular series invites viewers and fans to design the 2013 “Blog Cabin” in hopes of winning the finished product, an exclusively-designed vacation home situated on North Carolina’s beautiful “Crystal Coast.” As always, viewers will vote on all of the major design elements, including color palette, fixtures and amenities.
Every step of the home’s transformation will be featured in the new season of Blog Cabin premiering Monday, July 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET. In addition to voting online for the home’s unique renovation elements at DIYNetwork.com/BlogCabinVote, viewers can enter two Blog Cabin sweepstakes. The main sweepstakes will award one lucky viewer the grand prize: the newly renovated “Blog Cabin.” Fans can also enter to win the program’s “cabin comforts” sweepstakes, in which one winner will receive a duplicate set of the amenities chosen for this year’s “Blog Cabin.”
“Viewers love Blog Cabin because of the truly collaborative nature of the show,” said Steven Lerner, vice president, programming for DIY Network. “The viewers get to see their favorite DIY Network experts working with their own personal design choices to make this ordinary house into a one-of-a-kind getaway. Everyone feels passionate about the details because there is a chance that the home just might be theirs at the end of the season. It’s fun to see everyone really getting into the voting process.”
BLOG CABIN TEAM OF EXPERTS
The seventh season of Blog Cabin is hosted by Chris Grundy, host of Cool Tools and the sixth season of Blog Cabin, and features all of DIY Network’s Crashers experts, House Crashers host and licensed contractor Josh Temple, Bath Crashers host and licensed contractor Matt Muenster, Kitchen Crashers host and interior designer Alison Victoria and Yard Crashers host and licensed contractor Matt Blashaw. In addition, Mega Dens host and interior designer Anitra Mecadon and I Hate My Yard host and landscape designer Sara Bendrick will also join the Blog Cabin team this year. Together they will transform the 1,600 square foot, 4-bedroom, 3-bath, late 19th century beach cottage into a modern-day coastal retreat. The newly-remodeled home will then be featured in a one-hour special airing Thursday, Sept. 12 at 9 p.m. ET. The special will highlight all the hard work and fun times had by all during the renovation of the 2013 “Blog Cabin.”
