Scripps Networks Expands Latin America Footprint

Miami, FL – Scripps Networks Interactive, the world’s number one developer and producer of lifestyle content, today announced a pan-regional launch of Food Network on DIRECTV across various countries in Latin America. Food Network, the leading global culinary lifestyle channel, first launched in Brazil, will now launch with DIRECTV, reaching more than six million viewers across the region. Food Network will be broadcast in both standard definition on channel 233, as well as high definition on channel 1233, and will offer global programming featuring kitchen competition, culinary adventure, instructional cooking and home entertaining.

The network features popular global hit series from Food Network U.S., including Chopped, a high-stakes culinary competition hosted by Ted Allen where competitors are challenged to create delectable courses in a limited amount of time from the ingredients in the renowned Chopped mystery basket; two-time Emmy-nominated Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, hosted by Guy Fieri, who, week-to-week, embarks on a cross-country road trip to uncover the best that America’s restaurants have to offer by way of regional classics and comfort food; Iron Chef America, a culinary competition based on  the Japanese cult sensation Iron Chef, presents a challenge to a new chef and one of the resident “Iron Chefs” based on the famed “secret ingredient”; and Bobby Flay’s Barbecue Addiction which takes viewers back to the basics by focusing on easy, approachable cooking techniques for grilling new and traditional fare including fresh seafood to Southern barbecue to hamburgers and vegetables.
