Cynthia Gibson, 47, is executive vice president of legal for Scripps Networks Interactive, a leading developer of high-profile, lifestyle-oriented content for many media platforms including television, digital, mobile and publishing. Gibson leads the legal function for the company's media portfolio, which includes popular lifestyle brands HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and country music network Great American Country. On-air programming is complemented with online video, social media and e-commerce components on companion Web sites reaching millions of fans around the world.
Gibson is an accomplished attorney and has more than 20 years experience as a proven practitioner and leader. She has been recognized among The Best Lawyers in America and was named among the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Ohio, and Top 25 Women Attorneys in Cincinnati.
Gibson is also actively involved in the community. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Women's Leadership Council of United Way Worldwide, leading is taskforce on Women and Worldwide as well as its Council Development Committee. Locally, Gibson serves as Chair of the Women of Tocqueville for the United Way of Greater Knoxville. She also serves as a member of the board of the American Red Cross, Knoxville Area Chapter.
Gibson received a bachelor of arts degree with honors in history from Wake Forest University, and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
