Terry Smithers, 53, is senior vice president of audit and compliance for Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. Prior to assuming this position, he was director of audit and consulting services for The E.W. Scripps Company (Scripps). Smithers joined Scripps in 1985 as internal audit manager.
Smithers currently serves as vice president of the board of directors of Children's Theatre and is a member of the building and technology committee for St. Joseph Orphanage.
Smithers has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
