Mark W. Kroeger is executive vice president and chief communications officer for Scripps Networks Interactive. He is responsible for strategic messaging to all external and internal audiences, as well as directing media relations, employee communications, investor relations and other related communications functions for the company.
Kroeger had served as senior vice president of communications and investor relations since 2008 when the company separated from its former parent, The E. W. Scripps Company. He had previously served as manager, then director of corporate communications and investor relations for E. W. Scripps, joining the corporate leadership team 1997. Kroeger first came to Scripps in 1978 as a general assignment reporter at the company’s newspaper in Evansville, Ind., where he was later named business editor, then city editor.
Kroeger currently serves on the board of directors of the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation in Knoxville. He is past board president of The St. Vincent de Paul Society in Cincinnati. Kroeger also served on the executive committee and the board of directors of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.
Kroeger has a master’s degree in business administration from Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Western Kentucky University.
