Mark S. Hale

Executive Vice President, Operations & Chief Technology Officer

Mark Hale, 53, is executive vice president, operations and chief technology officer for Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. He oversees the Scripps information technology group, which provides strategic technological support for all of the company's businesses.

Hale has responsibilities over internal award winning production unit, Scripps Productions, broadcast origination, transmission, IT, property development and facilities management. Hale joined Scripps Networks in March 1994.

Prior to assuming this position, Hale was named senior vice president of technology operations for The E.W. Scripps Company (Scripps) and executive vice president of operations for the Scripps Networks.

Hale has over 25 years experience developing and overseeing media related organizations and supporting technologies. He was a member of the original management team that oversaw the launch of HGTV. He also orchestrated the company's launch of High Definition services including HGTV-HD and Food Network-HD. His team has received numerous industry recognitions for their technical facility designs and a technology and engineering Emmy award for pioneering innovations in media delivery confirmation systems.

Hale serves on the IS Advisory Board for the Farmers School of Business, Miami University, Ohio, and the Customer Advisory Board for SES World Skies. Prior to joining Scripps in 1994, he held operational executive positions with E! Entertainment Television and the Movietime cable television network.
