Schuermann began with Scripps Networks Interactive in 1998 as a senior auditor in the audit and consulting services department, and was promoted to audit manager in 2000. He was promoted to director of treasury management in 2002 and assistant treasurer in 2006. Before joining Scripps Networks, Schuermann held internal audit positions with Fifth Third Bank and U.S. Bank.
Schuermann holds an MBA from Xavier University and has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a Certified Treasury Professional, Certified Risk Manager, and Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor.
